Falconhead

This scenic master-planned community 15 miles west of downtown Austin has grown by leaps and bounds since it first opened its doors in 2003.

Located in the Bee Cave area south of Lake Travis, it enjoys a gorgeous Hill Country setting of gentle hills and deep woods and is centered on the Falconhead Golf Club and its 18-hole course.

Dubbed one of the “Top Five Golf Courses” in Austin by Avid Golfer, this is the country’s first PGA Tour Signature Series Course and was designed to be fun for both weekend golfers and championship-level players. Golfers of all skill levels enjoy the challenge and beauty of its signature hole, the 17th, which is on a limestone ledge overhanging a stream.

The course terrain is classic Hill Country, with stands of live oak and cedar, verdant rolling hills and waterfalls breaking into streams. At the heart of it all is a clubhouse where one of the best restaurants in the area, Talon’s Grill, operates.

All told, Falconhead has a very serene, almost rural feel, balanced by the fact that it’s just minutes away from the heart of Austin.

Real Estate

A home in Falconhead is the perfect Hill Country retreat.

Residences across this over 400-acre community are designed to make the most of their verdant, hilly setting and to foster a comfortable, outdoors-oriented lifestyle. There’s more than enough room to stretch out here.

The community is composed of two main areas – Falconhead, which is mainly Spillman Ranch, and the newer Falconhead West. Buyers will find a variety of single-family residences across all the neighborhoods, ranging from garden homes to custom-built luxury homes on sprawling lots.

Properties in Falconhead West are slightly newer and there are new homes available in the latest development, Canyonside at Falconhead West, built by Ash Creek Homes.

While Tuscan-style villas are becoming more popular, Mediterranean and Craftsman-style homes are still the most in demand. Homes along the golf course, however, tend to be Tuscan-inspired.

Homes in Falconhead vary in size as well. Those built on the northern side of the golf course tend to be smaller. Larger two-story homes are typical of houses on the southern side. No matter their size, most follow open, free-flowing floor plans that maximize living space.
